After School Activities
Growing and learning socially outside of the classroom is an important part of education at St. Rita. With a diverse after school activities program, students have an opportunity to communicate with their peers in a more casual setting. There are clubs, classes and teams for different age groups. New activities are offered each semester allowing students to learn about such things as, stained glass making, karate, or landscape design. Sports teams, offered to both boys and girls, are used to teach students leadership, cooperation, discipline, and good sportsmanship. Each year, St. Rita high school students perform a musical theatre production in sign language. Community actors sit in front of the stage and voice the parts that are signed by the student actors. These social programs are more than just fun for our students. They serve as a creative outlet for self-expression and a tool to build self-esteem.
