Fr. Waldhaus accepted the challenge and began to dream of a school that would educate children from across the country and around the world.
Working with the Sisters of Charity and other community members, Fr. Waldhaus purchased 237 acres of land that would become St. Rita School as it is today. Fr. Walhaus’ dream would produce the first accredited high school for the Deaf in Ohio. With Fr. Waldhaus’ care and devotion, St. Rita School provided educational and social opportunities so students could become productive members of society.
Today, we honor a man who believed in making the impossible, possible for our students and helped make many dreams a reality.
