Activity Leader

Purpose
Growing and learning socially outside of the classroom is an important part of education at St. Rita School for the Deaf. With a diverse after school activities program, students have the opportunity to communicate with their peers in a more casual setting. These peers include students from St. Rita and also students who are deaf or hard of hearing that attend schools in the tri state area. New activities are offered each semester allowing students to learn about such things as stained glass making, karate, or landscape design. These social programs are more than just fun for the students. They serve as a creative outlet for self-expression and a tool to build self-esteem.
