The Career Plus Program is a 2 year program for students who have chosen to defer their diploma for focused vocational training that prepares students for competitive employment and independent living. The program consists of classroom work and on the job training. Educational classes are provided in a comprehensive communication environment, including sign language, providing students direct access to class material. Onsite and off-site work experiences mirror the diversity of workplaces in our community with the assistance of a job coach/interpreter.
The Career Plus Program is highly individualized. After learning the strengths, needs, interests and preferences of the student, they are paired with work experiences that are tailored to their skills and interests. Our off-campus partners change yearly based on students' interests and needs in order to maintain a high level of individualization focusing on career development.
