#TransformationTuesday features our substitute teacher, Ms. Roberta. She attended St. Rita School for the Deaf in 1970 and graduated in 1985. She went to Gallaudet University and graduated in 1990. After graduation, she traveled to Europe with her best friend and visited 13 countries before starting work at SRS in 1990. This Fall, she has completed 50 years of being associated with SRSD as a student and staff member. A fun fact about her is that her family is Deaf. Her mother, sister, and aunt attended SRSD, and her grandfather helped with summer festivals and other events.

Today is #throwbackthursday. While searching through our archive room, we discovered an old photograph representing leaders from Schools for the Deaf nationwide. It didn't say what year, but the photo was taken at The Western Pennsylvania School For The Deaf. A picture size 13X10. It would be cool to take a picture together with our current leaders, both present and past. Yesterday, our students had a fantastic opportunity to tour the National Weather Service (NWS) office in Wilmington, OH. 🌡️⛈️🌤️❅ They communicated with the meteorologists and learned about how scientists work together to provide weather services for the public. This experience was an excellent way for them to expand their classroom learning, and we are grateful to the US National Weather Service Wilmington for allowing us to visit! #learningoutsideoftheclassroom #weatherawareness #wilmingtonohio
