Two of our Work Study students took their learning beyond the classroom during an engaging visit to the Downtown Market with other schools. They explored the market’s history, met local vendors, and learned about fresh, locally grown foods. 🥕🍞🍎

Students also took part in a Q&A with local entrepreneurs, gaining valuable insight into how ideas grow into real businesses and discovering career paths in culinary arts, agriculture, and entrepreneurship.

This hands-on experience supports their Agriculture and Culinary Pre-Apprenticeship pathway, helping connect classroom learning to real-world opportunities. 💚💛🦁

🍁🍂 Mrs. Kim’s class read “Leaf Hunt” and then got creative with a fall art project! Students painted colorful leaves using shaving cream and rolling beads in a box. Fun, sensory way to bring the story to life! 💚💛🦁

Yesterday in Mr. Jon’s Digital Media class, things were a little different; instead of teaching, Mr. Jon let the students take over his job! 🙌
They’ve been picking up their skills so quickly that they jumped right into real media work. Scanning vintage photos, labeling files, transferring pictures to the hard drive, editing videos, and even creating visuals for our social media.

Each week, students rotate jobs to build new skills and gain hands-on experience in every part of digital media production. 💚💛🦁

Who loves yoga? We do! Check out our after-school Yoga Club! Students had a great time stretching, laughing, and relaxing during a round of spooky Halloween yoga. 👻🕸️
A huge thank you to Mrs. Karen, one of our amazing staff members, for making after-school activities like this possible! 💛💚🦁

ASL Fun with Lakota West High School! Last week, ASL students from Lakota West High School visited our high school students for a morning full of creativity, laughter, and hands-on learning.
Together, they played 4 Square, Rock-Paper-Scissors, and other interactive games that helped both groups learn and practice ASL in a fun, engaging way.

It was a wonderful day of connection and friendship! Thank you, @lakotawestfirebirds, for visiting St. Rita! Let’s do it again soon! 💚💛🦁

Today the 3-6 Apraxia class took a trip out to the farm that is run by Carmelite Sisters of Elias. They were able to interact with donkeys, miniature horses, sheep and some very cute dogs.

Meet our newest drone, Eva. Named in honor of our student Eva Hall, who was deaf and blind. 110 years ago, Eva couldn’t see the world around her.

Here are rare photos of Eva Hall. In one picture, two students gently guide her hands as she touches and feels our 1921 cornerstone, before the main building was even established.

Today, our drone Eva can see the whole world for her. A powerful symbol of how far we’ve come, from limited sight to limitless vision. 💚💛

✝️ Last Friday, we celebrated our first Mass of October together as a school community. Before Mass began, our ASL Choir led us in a beautiful song. Signing and singing together in praise. What a heartfelt reminder of how blessed we are to share faith through both voice and hands. 🙏💚💛🦁
