As we prepare for our first Morning Announcements after Labor Day, we came across a special video from the late 1990s. In this clip, former St. Rita teacher and school counselor Sally Monahan teaches the ASL alphabet during Morning Announcements. Sally was well known throughout the St. Rita community and made a lasting impact on many of our students and staff & teachers during her years here.
Sally passed away in 2006, but moments like this allow us to remember her and the difference she made at St. Rita. We're grateful to have this piece of our history preserved in our archives. Enjoy this special throwback of Sally teaching the ABCs in ASL!

Better Together! 🧩 Last Friday, our entire school came together for our first Prayer Service of the new school year! We introduced our 2026–2027 theme, Better Together, and talked about how God calls us to work together, support one another, and use our individual gifts to make our community stronger. Every person brings something special to St. Rita, and every piece matters!

Students and staff then put our theme into action with a fun puzzle activity that required everyone to work together. 🧩
It was a wonderful way to kick off the year, welcome our new students, break the ice, and remind everyone that we're one St. Rita family.

#throwbackthursday While transferring old photos into our digital archives this summer, we came across a CD-ROM labeled 2004. Yes, a CD-ROM... that's a throwback by itself! 💿 We had to see what was on it, and we discovered these photos from more than 20 years ago. The best part? What a great first day back! It was SO good seeing our students again! After almost three months of summer break, we couldn't believe how much some of them have grown. Seriously... when did that happen?! Seeing their smiles, reconnecting with everyone, and having our classrooms full again reminded us how much we missed them.

We are excited to work alongside our students, watch them learn and grow, and see them thrive throughout the year.
