One of the most touching moments from our recent graduation ceremony 💚🎓Mrs. Kim had the special honor of presenting Hunter, one of our seniors, with a high school diploma. She has known him since kindergarten. Years ago, when she was a teacher in Dayton public schools, she presented his kindergarten diploma. Now, as a teacher at St. Rita School for the Deaf, she had the honor of presenting his high school diploma.
What a full circle moment and beautiful reminder of the lasting impact teachers can have in a student’s journey ❤️

As Dummy Hoy Day approaches this Saturday, May 23, we continue the effort to honor his legacy and help gain recognition for his place in the National Baseball Hall of Fame ⚾ While exploring Fr. Waldhaus’ personal photo album, we discovered historic photos of Dummy Hoy with a group of baseball players in 1926 and 1927. We are still unsure of the full story behind the photos, but we strongly believe some of the players may have been connected to St. Rita, as we recognized some familiar names. What an incredible piece of history 💚
Please help support Dummy Hoy by signing the petition to help get him into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. More information can be found in the comments below.

This morning, our Preschool Department hosted its very first Preschool Prom! As we get ready for the end of the school year, we wanted to help create special memories for our preschool students and make them feel extra special. Everyone dressed up for the big event and enjoyed dancing, fun activities, tasty snacks, a photobooth, and of course… even more dancing
It was a morning full of smiles, laughter, and unforgettable memories before the school year comes to an end!

Last week, our high school students celebrated prom in a fun and unique way 💚Instead of dressing up and dancing, students enjoyed an exciting evening at Web Extreme Entertainment. They had a great time playing games, driving go karts, and sharing dinner together.
We also loved seeing some of our recent alumni stop by to hang out and make more memories with us. Check out the photos from a great night!

Yesterday, our End of the Year Retreat was filled with meaningful moments and fun 💚 ✝️🤟 We were grateful to welcome special guests from Dayton Christian High School, including their teacher, Mr. Nick, who is a CODA, pastor, and interpreter, to spend time with our high school students. Together, we sang in ASL, listened to personal testimonies, participated in fun activities, learned from one another, and enjoyed lunch together.
Thank you for spending the day with us and making it so memorable. We hope to see you again in the future!
